Eco Days

Corrymeela Community and the 7th Generation Project offered us a great chance to take part in "Eco days," a three day discussion about environmental issues. The 'Open Space' discussions gave everyone the opportunity to participate in exploring strategies that might lead to a sustainable future and to share knowledge with each other. There were professionals, volunteers and activists all who contributed unique views on the status of our sustainability equation.

It was very interesting to meet people from different sectors that shared the same passion for the Earth.  Many of the topics challenged our daily routines and engaged ideas that may seem depressing and impossible to solve. We definitely got many positive ideas how we at Kilcranny could change or evolve because everyone has a part to play in re-balancing Earth's structures and systems. We want to try to buy our food only locally and do as much as we can by our own, that means growing organic vegetables and herbs, baking our own bread, recycling and composting are all steps to being more self-sustainable.
